Passover Festival
My friend John, who met through my job and have known for
two years, taught me about the relationship between Easter and The Lamb after he read my blog. This is what he taught me today.
“Throughout the New Testament, Jesus is referred to as The
Lamb of God. I suppose this was because He was sacrificed for
the people. Since Easter is considered the time when He was
resurrected, the lamb has become a symbol for Him.
I remember many Easters when I was young, my family
would roast a lamb on that day.
It is interesting that the word Passover comes from the time
when, according to the Old Testament, Jews placed lamb’s
blood on their doors so that God’s plague would “Passover”
them. ”
I didn't know that The Lamb is a very important symbol in both Christianity and Judaism.
Thank you for the very useful and interesting information, John-san!!
